A big greetings from me, I am sampanusx2, today I will teach you how to solve problems on standard form. Standard is a branch of mathematics that deal with numbers in power of 10. This branch of mathematics is simple to solve bit some still don't know how to solve.
But this post will guide you which is organiz by the team called "Brainimatic Series".This team has what it takes to build weaken students back to their normal level of understanding. One thing you must known is how many power of 10 are is a particular number.
If a number is given, how many power 10 do we have in that number or in the other way no power of 10 in such number. But before I solve some examples, lete me break every thing down

But before I solve some examples, lete me break every thing down.
In standard form, we have the one with numbers less that 1, and the one greater than one.Firsy numbers less than one;
0.01 = 10⁻2
0.001 =10⁻3
0.0001= 10⁻4
0.00001 = 10⁻5
The illustration above is the negative standard form,why because the is negative sign.The next one is positive standard form.
10 = 101
10= 102
10= 10³
10 = 104
Etc....
Now I will solve some questions concerning standard with the comparations of some examples.lest solve the positive ones. These numbers are greater than 1.
Number greater than 1 ( x ＞ 1)
Write the following numbers in standard form.
(a) 35820
(b) 3.57
(c) 27891000
(d) 24.5
Solution
(a) 35820
= 35820
= 35820 x 10000
= 3.582 x 104
Or
=35820 x 104
3.5820 x 104
To do this , count the digit of the number given from the right to the left without counting the last number. The number of digit you have is what you raise to the power of 10. If have 5 digit of numbers, 4 is to raise on 10.Also if you have zero as the last number, do not include it with numbers after decimals

=4. 719 x 104

= 3.57 x 10º
In this one, the 3 alone is the number greater than 1 but no tens is only units.
(c) 27891000
= 27891000
= 2.7891 x 10⁷
Also in the above working, the zeros are not included after the decimals, you too do the same thing.
(d) 24.5
= 2.45 x 10¹
Numbers less than (1 く x )
Example 2
Write the following in standard form
(a) 0.00346
(b) 0.0000654
(c) 0.02
(d)0.0006018
Solution
(a) 0.00346
= 3.46 x 0.01
= 3.46 x 10⁻²
The zeros will be raise by -2. Since it is number less than one, it is inverse function.
(b) 0.0000654
= 6.54 x 0.00001
= 6.54 x 10⁻⁵
(c) 0.02
= 2 x 10⁻²
(d) 0.0006018
= 6. 018 x 0.0001
= 6. 018 x 10⁻⁴
