First we apply multiplication
= 5 + 3 x 4
= 5 + 12
= 17
Yes the result is 17. You can see, I multiply before the addition comes last. This means in mathematics we must multiply before addition.
2. Evaluate (12 - 4 ) ÷ 2 + 10
Now we open the bracket first according to the name.
=( 8 ÷ 2) + 10
Division comes before addition
= 4 + 10
= 14

First we perform division first.
= 20 + 5 - 2
Followed by addition
= 25

= 23
5. Evaluate 4 x ( 15 - 6 )
First we clear the bracket.
= 4 x ( 15 - 6 )
= 4 x 9
= 36
